[She set to work, composing her features after the initial expression of worry and upset, concentrating on the leg and tail before she moved to inspect the slashes and lacerations. Just what had happened to the poor Kit? She was not used to treating animals, though she knew basics of medical care and had helped Granny with Den a couple of times.]
