And Ed's dragging another tarp over to the third crate, huffing and dragging and finally he drops it. This is going to happen all week, so Ed is going to be more than a little scarce=-



Apples. Everywhere, apples. And not one cinnamon tree. -=He doesn't seem upset about that part.=-

Apples tend to be fairly hardy. They'll keep for a month plus just as they are unless they have worms in them or are bruised.

They can be. The first winter I was here it snowed for an entire month without stopping.

I can well imagine. It was wretched enough with the rains trapping us indoors for a week. A month of such forced confinement would drive the whole city mad.

Oh, a little snow would not be terrible. Enough to make a pretty landscape of the city, to make it look fresh and clean, and to give us stores of good water. And enough in which to play and make merry for a short time. Would that not be ideal?

N-no, I would imagine it is not. It must be difficult to keep warm, when metal holds the cold as easily as it does the heat, and the cold will make those limbs even more stiff and difficult to move than ones of flesh.

Nah, I've been in snow before. It's shitty, but as long as there's a warm place and some hot cloths on hand, I'll manage.
