If I got it right from that book you lent me, it's a bit like transmutation in a sense... I rearrange the molecules of the wall so that they'll let me go through them.

That's right. Part of the way alchemy is feasible is the space between the electrons in an atom. There's so much space that you can walk right through them if you push the actual mass aside.
